Meet Frack, He came in with his brother Frick
History: A woman called the shelter about two random stray puppies living under her porch. They lived under there for about three months. Afraid of people and dog traps and just about everything else. Numerous attempts were made to catch them but it took a long time. When they were finally caught they had missed many months of good, positive human interaction and were fearful, but not aggressive. They were sent to live in a foster home with other friendly dogs in the hopes that they would come around faster.
About this dog: Frack enjoys the company of all dogs, male and female, he does not seem to have a preference at this time. He is occasionally possessive of toys but it is not all out aggressive, he just tells them he doesn't want them to take what he has. He is a little timid of big dogs but warms up to them quickly. Frack does show some minor food aggression with dogs but not with people.
He is slow to warm up to people . He does best when paired with a people friendly dog to imitate. If he sees that another dog trusts you then he is quicker to trust you. He has not shown any aggression issues with people. But he will run away from them if he gets scared or if he does not know them. His new owner would have to have patience, understanding, and be willing to be slow and gentle with him. This dog follows other dogs outside to go potty.
Not suitable for Condos, Apartments, trailerparks, or town houses
Reason: These dogs like to bark. And they also like to run. They need a fenced in yard where they can go outside and play.
Frack no longer shuts down when leashes are attached to him. He will walk on a leash but has not yet learned leash manners. These manners will need to be taught slowly so he does not become afraid of leashes again.
This dog is currently in a foster home, if you would like to meet him please call the shelter so that they can put you in touch with the foster home.
